Thrown work

The lava glaze and tapered shape of the following selection of work were inspired by the sights of Dartmoor, with a focus on the reds of various tree barks. I have also included some of the test piecies I made.

Here are a couple of thrown bowls I glazed, using glaze that varied in thickness to give different apperiences to various parts of the bowls.

These pots and bowls were inspired by shapes and textures of the waterfront near Devil's Point, Plymouth. The glaze contains sand taken from one of the beaches in the area.
